Lifeboat teams introduced a rescue quote for a “pet dog” in difficulty in the sea which ended up being a seal.

The RNLI stated exactly what was believed to be a Jack Russell was identified off Roker Pier, Sunderland, on Saturday.

But when Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team showed up, they understood it remained in reality a little seal in the water.

RNLI representative Paul Robinson stated teams just ended up being associated with canine saves to aim to avoid owners risking their lives and entering into the water.

He stated: “It is a threat, however we will end up being associated with animal saves as a preventative step and indirectly to protect the lives of owners.

“These disasters do take place when individuals enter into the water aiming to conserve their family pets and drown while the pet dog endures.”
